This is going to be one of my less fangirly posts, because this man is beyond fangirling, HOKAY? He's special.

Huang YiDA (yes, it's always typed/written with the capitalized DA, when in English) is an amazing Singaporean singer, making his music in Taiwan. I think he could be classified as a POP-ROCK singer, yes? Tho he would be upset about the pop part, he likes to think of himself as a hardcore rocker. Or something. XD


Why you should love him:
1. He is amazingly talented. No joke. He writes songs, lyrics, composes, you name it.
2. His voice is love. He has this husky sexy voice that carries well in the slow ballads as well as his amazing, fast-paced rock songs.
3. He is DAMN PRETTY. No, seriously, there will be a picspam. You will squeel at his pretty. It is practically mandatory.
4. He can SING. Very well. Listen to "Xian Shang You Xi". He's singing so fast and sounds very amazing.
5. He's not very well-known yet. and he should be. He's talented enough to deserve alot more fame and recognition.
6. His lyrics are pretty awesome and deep and very touching...
7. He plays instruments, isn't that hot? He plays both guitar and piano very well and actually does so for much of his work. He may play other instruments, but I'm not sure...

10. [Go Away]- This is a rather addicting song. In which we hear YiDA sings some English. I wish I could find a clip of him speaking Singlish.

His first albums really has some very nice songs. and it's a good testament to YiDA's music style...alot of his music is slow, mellow, and ADDICTING if you listen to it. and then he likes to sprinkle fast, rockish songs in there~

Second Album- Exclusive Code (Zhuan Ji Mi Ma)

5. 如果愛　就現在吧- Ru Guo Ai (Jiu Xian Zai Ba)　
6. [超愛你- Chao Ai Ni]</a->[Set Me Free]- The song that catapulted me back into YiDA fandom, I am so in love with this song, how he sings, how the music explodes, etc. I even love the random French lady~
9. [臭男人- Chou Nan Ren]- Probably his most famous work, it was the opening for DBY. A very, very catchy song~
10. 征服自己- Zhen Fu Zi Ji
11. 顯微鏡下的愛情 （弦樂版)- Xian Wei Jing Xia De Ai Qing

Alot of people know YiDA from the song, "Jerk" which was the opening song for the Taiwanese drama Devil Besides You (which I recommend, for Mike He is HOT). I actually loved YiDA from before (myspace fanpage drew me in~), but hearing the song, "Set Me Free" during the a scene of the drama, made me realize how wonderful he is all over again~

8. [文成公主- Wen Chen Gong Zhu]- This song is PRETTY. It has a very WuXia feel to it and the way he sings <3
9. [解脫- Jie Tuo]- Pretty. PRETTY! He attempts to hit high notes~ This kinda reminds me of a Dashboard Confessional song, except it's not emo~
10. [完整演出- Wan Zheng Yan Chen]- Cover song. Watch the music video, he does this thing on the piano~ *love*
11. 冷戰- Leng Zhan
12. [My Love My Dear]- I HAD to include this, because it's CRACK. COMPLETE CRACK. I LOVE IT. 8 seconds of nice guitar...and then a CHIPMUNK starts squeak-singing. WIN. It is apparently, dedicated to his fans, [Here's the video]. It's sweet.

So...he made us wait like, A YEAR AND EIGHT MONTHS FOR THIS ALBUM. *weeps* [Here's him apologizing for the wait, and crying when he saw how many supporters he still had after the long wait *hugs him*]. It took him so long because he was unsatisfied with the music he was cranking out. He said something along the lines of, "If I just write any song, I ca get 10 a day, but I want to write good music." He also produced this album and the MV's himself. This album is, according to YiDA, to be like a soundtrack...with the opening song being "Prelude" and "Wen Cheng Gong Zhu" representing Wu Xia films, and "Wan Zheng Yuan Cheng" as the grand finale. and "My Love My Dear" as the cartoon part~ etc, etc...

I love him.

Hmm, this video is, well, odd. I really wish I had a Devil Beside You version to share...but alas...YiDA really looks very...sexy...in this video. The way he looks at the camera and the way he's singing into the mic, and the fact that he is playing guitar. Oh, and the wicked lil smile at the end. Yum.

I cannot, for the life of me, find it if it exists. But it's a very good song, I like hearing him sing, "I Believe" in English~

The title track MV. It's a pretty cool MV. In the words of YiDA himself, it is, "Chao ku!" (super cool!). He pretty much on the piano for most of it and he plays this amazing bit on the piano...he also handles his guitar. and there's rockin out and piano burning. Yes, he ACTUALLY purchased and burned a GRAND PIANO for this video...when they were filming that scene, he was in danger of having the piano strings snapping and hitting his eyes. Ah, dedication. This man is dedicated. *loves*

My god what a pretty piano. What a pretty song. What a pretty man~ Seriously, this video is lovely. There's alot of white clothing and background and stuff so everything looks all angelic and heavenly. And he's kinda floating in the sky, playing piano. and there's a rather adorable white puppy. All in all, a very beautifully artistic video for a lovely song.

I hafta say, I absolutely adore this song and this video. The song itself is lovely and the way he sings it is love and the video really goes with the song. Slow and with the piano at first, and then he finds a guitar and plays it when the song picks up. (It REALLY picks up, I don't usually hear this kind of transition in music). and he looks so cute all intense playing instruments.

Another from his first album. Gods, he's so cute. Like, I can't even describe how cute and beautiful he is in this. and I love this song. I just, really REALLY wanna hug him. The song itself is so cute and I love his voice and his airy, husky higher notes. Wow, I never really noticed how deep his voice is and how odd it is coming from a pretty, slim guy like him. But yes, download this. He is sooo cute.

1. Once, along time ago, he told some people he met that one day, he would be a singer. They didn't really believe him coz his was this grungy looking kid...but I think they saw something deep in him.
2. His co-star (Alan?) on his new videos (who is also one of his great friends apparently), first saw YiDA in a picture at the recording studio...and thought he was a very pretty Japanese GIRL.
3. They say guys fall in love with YiDA when they see him/his face. and girls fall in love with him when the hear him sing.
4. He denies his pretty. WOE. Ok, not really, but he said once that people may think he's girly when the see him, but he hopes that when the get to know him, they will know he's not. *hugs him*
5. He likes to lean on his mic-stand as he sings. He looks super cool doing so. XD
6. He apparently sucks at bowling. Awww, lookit him doing push-ups and be adorable. Awww, he's so sweet. Plz to ignore the squeaky girls in fluffy dresses. and he flirts/flatters them. Why am I not a host on Taiwan TV? Ugh. W/E, he's very cute talking to them, so watch.
